There's Nourishment in Staying Present + Somatic Movement classes start this Saturday!
Online classes run 7/8-7/29 on Saturdays at 10am ET/ 9am CT
I don’t yet know if I’m going to manage a real newsletter this month. Between family vacation, final exams, house projects, and other normal work & parent life (not to mention my partner’s an ocean away for the next 8 days), I may not manage it. Feeling all of this, I did a tarot spread that helped ground me a little. It helped me identify that I’m feeling a little caged with everything. And that I’m craving a deep nourishment, which I can find by focusing on the present moment. What a great reminder—that we can be nourished by staying present. It’s truly essential to bring awareness to what’s happening in our bodymind, whether that’s through movement practice or just mindfully doing the dishes.
So… I’m going to stay in the moment by not worrying about writing a “real” newsletter this month. If you’re looking for a little of this type of nourishment, you can join me this Saturday at 10am ET as I kick off my next Somatic movement series, which will run 4 weeks from 7/8-7/29.
I’m offering a special for the month of July that I’m calling the “Thanks for helping me graduate” special. All classes are 35% off as you’re helping me complete my hours to graduate from my program at the end of this month. You can signup at this link and you’ll find the discount when you go to checkout. I believe everyone could benefit from this practice, so I’m working on developing additional pay-what-you-can models. Please reach out for other payment options or to suggest additional class meeting times.
Need a reminder of what Somatic Movement is? Somatics is a foundational movement practice that addresses the common reflexes that cause us to hold tension in our muscles. Learners use simple movements designed to reestablish neuromuscular pathways allowing us to become more connected to our bodies by gaining awareness of our own patterns. This awareness supports body-mind functioning by alleviating pain, improving mobility, and calming the nervous system. For more, here’s what I wrote about it a couple of moths ago in this newsletter.
